Clear PET — Transparent Rigid Packaging for Full Product Visibility

Clear PET (polyethylene terephthalate) packaging is the material for applications where full product transparency is the primary packaging objective. Unlike windowed paperboard packaging that provides a partial view, clear PET creates completely transparent structures — the packaging disappears and only the product is visible. This total transparency is the strongest possible purchase-confidence tool for visually appealing products.

We produce clear PET packaging in folded box formats (clamshell, tuck-clear, and sleeve formats) and rigid thermoformed formats (trays, inserts, and blister components). The optical clarity of virgin PET is exceptional — comparable to glass at a fraction of the weight.

Clear PET Packaging Formats

Folded clear PET boxes — also called acetate boxes — are produced by die-cutting clear PET sheet and folding with a paperboard base or header card. Clamshell PET packaging uses two thermoformed halves that snap together. Tuck-clear format uses a clear body with a paperboard header for hanging display. Blister packaging uses a thermoformed PET cavity sealed to a printed backer card. Each format serves different product types and retail display requirements.

PET vs PVC for Clear Packaging

PET has largely replaced PVC (polyvinyl chloride) in clear packaging applications because PET is recyclable in standard #1 plastic streams while PVC is not readily recyclable and contains chlorine chemistry that complicates recycling. PET provides comparable optical clarity, rigidity, and food-safety to PVC while offering significantly better environmental profile. We use PET exclusively for clear packaging — we do not produce PVC packaging.

Custom Packaging for Missouri's Crossroads Economy

Missouri sits at the geographic and logistical crossroads of America — its central location makes it a critical distribution hub, while Kansas City and St. Louis are both major metropolitan economies in their own right. Kansas City's BBQ culture and craft food scene, St. Louis's Anheuser-Busch legacy and growing startup community, and Missouri's bourbon trail all create distinctive packaging opportunities. Branded Boxes serves Missouri businesses with premium packaging appropriate for their specific market.

Kansas City Food and BBQ Brand Packaging

Kansas City is one of America's great food cities — its BBQ culture has spawned national brands, its restaurant scene is nationally acclaimed, and its artisan food market is thriving. Packaging for Kansas City food brands must communicate the city's authentic culinary heritage. From BBQ sauce packaging to craft hot sauce to artisan food gifts, we produce food packaging that communicates Kansas City's bold flavor identity.

St. Louis Beer and Craft Beverage Packaging

St. Louis is the home of Anheuser-Busch, and that brewing heritage has created a sophisticated craft beer culture in the city's neighborhoods. Missouri's growing craft spirits industry adds bourbon, whiskey, and craft gin brands requiring premium carrier and gift packaging.

Missouri Statewide Distribution Packaging

Missouri's central location makes it a major distribution hub — packaging for products distributed through Missouri's logistics network requires durability specifications appropriate for the multi-state distribution environment.

Clear PET Packaging in Missouri — FAQs

Is clear PET packaging food-safe?

Yes. PET (identified by the #1 recycling symbol) is an FDA-approved food contact material used globally for beverage bottles, food trays, and food packaging. Food-grade PET for direct food contact is specified with appropriate additive-free formulations.

Can clear PET packaging be recycled?

Yes. PET is recyclable in standard #1 plastic recycling streams available in most US municipalities. Pure PET packaging without added paperboard components achieves the highest recyclability rates.

Can printing be applied to clear PET packaging?

Yes. Screen printing, UV digital printing, and hot stamping can be applied to clear PET surfaces. Combined with a printed paperboard base or header, clear PET packaging achieves brand communication while maintaining product transparency.

What is the difference between clear PET and acetate?

Acetate (cellulose acetate) was the original clear packaging material — now largely replaced by PET. PET is clearer, more consistent, more durable, and more recyclable than cellulose acetate. We use PET for all clear packaging applications; 'acetate box' is the common trade term regardless of material.

What is the minimum order for clear PET packaging?

Clear PET folded boxes start at 100 units. Thermoformed PET formats start at 500 units due to tooling requirements.

Do you ship custom packaging to Missouri?

Yes. We ship to all Missouri cities. Ground delivery to Kansas City and St. Louis is 3-4 business days from production.

Can you produce food packaging for Kansas City BBQ brands?

Yes. FDA-compliant food packaging for Kansas City BBQ sauce, rubs, and specialty food brands with bold design that communicates Kansas City's culinary identity from 100 units.

What is the minimum order for custom boxes in Missouri?

Minimum order is 50 units for rigid boxes and 100 units for folding cartons and corrugated packaging.

Do you produce craft beer packaging for Missouri breweries?

Can you produce luxury packaging for St. Louis premium brands?
