The outer flaps meet at the center and are secured with tape, staples, or hot melt adhesive. The geometry is designed so that the flap length equals half the box width — this ensures the flaps meet at center without overlap or gap. Deviations from this geometry compromise closure integrity and are a sign of incorrect box sizing.
